SkyFit Manual Blind

The Roof Roller Blind

The SkyFit™ manual blind is a fantastic solution for small flat or sloping roof windows.  The attractive 3-sided roller blind runs up and down side channels and is designed to fit at the bottom edge of your roof space where your upstands meet the ceiling. The blind is operated via a spring tension system using the handle at the bottom of the blind. The blind pulls down through the side rails locking whenever the handle is released, the handle is then pushed in towards the window releasing the lock which enables the cassette to retract the fabric. If you can reach the ceiling you can operate the blind with your hand, if not, the SkyFit™ blind comes with a FREE 1m-2m telescopic pole. Additional poles are £30 each.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SkyFIT and Honeycomb OpenView are two types of manual blinds designed for skylights and roof windows, each with distinct features and installation methods.

SkyFit Blinds

  • The SkyFIT manual blind is a 3-sided aluminium framed blind
  • It fits at the bottom edge of the recess, flush with the ceiling.
  • It requires careful operation to prevent the roller fabric from being pulled out of the side channels and relies heavily on the squareness of the recess for proper installation.
  • Blackout fabric only

Honeycomb OpenView manual blind

  • Offers more installation flexibility, as it can be fitted anywhere inside the recess.
  • It features a robust 4-sided frame, making it more forgiving for out-of-square recesses.
  • Offers slightly more thermal efficiency as it features Honeycomb cellular fabric
  • Available in blackout and antiglare fabric

Due to its 4 sided frame, the Honeycomb OpenView blind is generally considered more robust than the SkyFIT blind.  It is also suitable for fitting anywhere inside the recess and there are more fabric choice options. For these reasons, the Honeycomb OpenView manual blind is often recommended over the SkyFIT, particularly for windows that may not be perfectly square or when installation location flexibility is desired.
